Kaikōura is home to an abundance of marine wildlife and we never know what else we may encounter on a tour. From albatross, to orca and New Zealand fur seals, we love the element of the unknown and surprise!
Are there any sharks?
Our tours operate in the open ocean and this of course means that you may see all kinds of wildlife. While sharks inhabit open waters, we are fortunate in Kaikōura that there have been no serious shark attacks.
can we see whales on the tour?
We do not have a permit to view whales on our tours. Whale watching tours by boat are operated by Whale Watch Kaikōura Ltd and there are also options to see the whales from the air with helicopters or fixed wing aircraft.
